Join Marissa at Capital SUP for SUP Yoga class on the water! Learn to paddle and then head out to our floating studio!

Join SUP Fitness Director Marissa Walch on the water Sunday July 14th for a special afternoon SUP yoga class - all levels welcome! Complementary Dogfish Head Namaste Beer to enjoy after class! 🍻 So come “Namaste on my Board” with us on a lovely Sunday afternoon and then stick around for some brews together after class! Sign up early for only $20 - class rates jump to $25 within 12 hours of class.

We use Back Creek as our outdoor yoga studio and practice on the only floating studio in Annapolis! Practicing yoga on the stand up paddleboards is a fun and relaxing way to be out on the water, not to mention a great workout that builds core strength and balance. Imagine the sun on your face, a gentle breeze blowing across your skin, as you lift yourself into upward facing dog, or floating weightlessly in savasana, fingers dipping into the cool water during your final relaxation. Our stand up paddleboard yoga program is open to all levels, whether you are new to paddling, or new to yoga. Basic paddle instruction will be taught at the start of each class.

All levels of practitioners are welcome, but those with conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disorders, eating disorders, sleep deprivation, or pregnancy should consult their doctor first about the safety. In Sanskrit vinyasa means “to place in a special way,” and that informs the graceful dance that is a well-planned vinyasa sequence. When you hit that sweet spot and the endorphins kick in, a pushup suddenly becomes an exercise in weightlessness—you glide, you float, you sail into a blissful final relaxation. Now you get the hype, right?Level 2, or 2 Diamond, classes are suitable for intermediate students. The basic postures are expanded to include more difficult variations and may be described with less detail. The class will flow at a faster pace and the asanas will be held longer.
